I’ve started a YouTube channel called, “Old guy, career change”.
Why?
Because I’m considering what I might do if I left software engineering.
I’ve been on a single-track career since the 11th grade: Computers. It’s been a great ride.
But for the first time in my life, I’m entertaining the notion of doing something else. I’ve found myself in a vortex of career discontent, the “what is retirement?” question, and unsatisfied itches.
I started the channel to help others navigate this space. And maybe it’ll help me learn a few things about myself, too.
I recently posted a video with my thoughts on becoming a Watchmaker. Other videos talk about how my journey started and how it’s going right now.
