PyCon Tutorials, day 1, Liveblog
I'll update this as the day progresses at PyCon 2010. ————— 1623: We're done. This tutorial was at a more beginner level than I had expected. It was probably just right for some, maybe even a majority, of the audience. But some topics (e.g., the "base" template and settings files, how to change your site's … Continue reading PyCon Tutorials, day 1, Liveblog
PyCon 2010 arrival
I'm settled in my room for PyCon 2010. Tomorrow's the first day of tutorials. Just had a great dinner, albeit by myself, and now I'll do some Django work for a couple hours before turning in. I've got some Merlot within, so, my coding skills might be stunted.
PyCon 2010!
Tuesday, I leave for a week of PyCon 2010 in Atlanta. I'll liveblog and tweet (using the #pycon hashtag) from the conference. I expect to gravitate toward talks about the innards-of-Python, packaging, and deployment tools & techniques. We'll see.

PyCon 2009: Tutorials, Day 2
Technology shift noted: At last year's PyCon, a conference IRC channel was used for informal backchannel communications. This year, Twitter and IRC are both in use. The split is about 30/70 Twitter/IRC. This might change once the conference proper starts. In the morning, Python 401: Some Advanced Topics. Yeow, a fire hose talk, more information … Continue reading PyCon 2009: Tutorials, Day 2
PyCon 2009: Tutorials, Day 1
In the morning, Introduction to the Google App Engine. PyCon-supplied Wi-fi bandwidth is excellent in the public areas. Talk was great, lunch food was great. In the afternoon, Eggs and Buildout Development. This is great, it's like drinking from a firehose. Everything you wanted to know about virtualenv, distutils, setuptools, and buildout. Tonight, I had … Continue reading PyCon 2009: Tutorials, Day 1
